While certain sections of Part I of MedTech Outlook: Latin America 2023 generally use public sources such as the World Bank and the PAHO, the rest of the data is exclusive to Global Health Intelligence (GHI), the world’s premier source for data analytics on Latin American hospitals.
Nearly all of the data in Parts IV-VI of the report comes from HospiScope, the world’s leading database for Latin American hospitals. Created in 2015, HospiScope currently contains data for more than 19,000 hospitals in 17 Latin American countries. Every year, HospiScope researchers obtain or update more than 2 million data points concerning Latin American hospitals.
This data comes directly from the hospitals themselves — primary source data. This is in marked contrast to all of the data reports on the medical device or equipment market that are produced by other companies. These companies generally rely on government sources and other sources of public data. As such, this data may be less reliable and out of date. In contrast, HospiScope data comes directly from qualified hospital personnel.
In addition, after it is compiled, HospiScope data is subject to rigorous statistical modeling and cross-checking to ensure maximum accuracy by applying unique algorithms.
